Still Here

Jeremy and I are still here. It has been so busy here. Right before memorial day we got a 2 year old foster child. He is the cutest thing you have ever seen. He has been keeping us pretty busy.

We actually have time for a date tonight. Grandma is picking up from day care and babysitting tonight. Jeremy and I get to go to dinner and a movie. I got to pick ( Harry Potter of course) . We are still waiting to here from the CCAA. But we are not giving up on getting our Hannah some time this year.

I will try to post more later.

OMG

Just when you thought it was safe to pull your head out of the adoption sand pit!

Along comes the Swine Flu and now.......well, who knows!
It appears that China is going to temporarily stop referrals until we get past the Swine Flu. In my head I know that this makes great sense. We don't want to bring infants/toddlers home on a plane and potentially expose them to something that could seriously (if not fatally) hurt them.

This too shall pass, we will get our referrals and from what I am told, all this will be a distant memory. But for now I really just want to SCREAM.....

Oh, come on, Really?!!!! SWINE FLU???

New addition to our family

It has been very busy in the Meltzer Household. Last week Jeremy and I received our second foster child. She is 8 months old and is the cutest thing you have ever seen. So to say that we have been busy is an understatement.

I now understand all the trials and tribulations parents go through. But it is all worth it. No matter how long or short her her stay with us is.

Newest member of the Meltzer Family

This past Spring Jeremy and I took 30 Hours of training to become Foster Parents.
Well 2 day ago we got our very first. Jeremy and I have a 3 yr old foster son. The first night he went to sleep at 8:45 pm and slept for 10 1/2 hours. Last night he was so tired he fell a sleep at 7:30 pm and woke up this morning at 5am. We are still trying to figure out his sleeping pattern. I guess this is the beginning of parenthood.

Jeremy just took him to his first full day of Daycare, he will be attending a preschool too, as soon as busing has been arraigned. Lets hope he has a good day.

What Kind Of Flower Are You

I am a
Daffodil

You have a sunny disposition and are normally one of the first to show up for the party. You don't need too much attention from the host once you get there as you are more than capable of making yourself seen and heard.

I called Jeremy a chicken, to see if he would go on the Sky Wheel. Well He call me on it. Now, I have a little phobia of heights. It was tough on the first go round but after the 2nd time I was able to look at the beautiful view. So take a look at how high this was.

Cleveland Rocks

Jeremy and I decided to take a little trip to Cleveland Ohio. We just arrived tonight and what a night to arrive. Jeremy's favorite team Yankee's were playing the Indians. When we got here it was the bottom of the 11th inning. The police officer in the lobby recommended giving us a room in the basement when he found out we were from NY. but we got a great room on the 8th floor. Our view is of Jacobs field where the game was taking place as we arrived.

Jacobs Field Where the New York Yankee's played the Cleveland Indians tonight and lost 2-1 in the bottom of the 11th inning.

Well we had to travel thought NY , Pennsylvania to get to our final destination. These were the first pictures we took of this trip.

Tomorrow we will be going to the West Side Market the to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, finally a nice dinner at a place called Fat Fish Blue. Rachel Ray recommended all of these placed you can't go wrong with Rachel Ray's Tasty Travels. .More to come later Have a great weekend

Remembrance

As I type this post this morning, thinking about the adoption and our wait. It has been 17 months today. I also remember where I was 6 years ago today. I remember talking to my best friend Danielle and trying to make sense of what was happening, watching on television what was happening.
So I am posting this in memory of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and for those who continue to fight for our FREEDOM
